What Intelligence recommends and why

Intelligence proposes the next promotion to run. It is deliberately narrow: one recommendation, argued from evidence about this store, with every claim tied to a document you can open.

Evidence first, then the argument

The work is split in two. A retriever gathers evidence from the document index: measured outcomes of your own past promotions, your current inventory and cost position, and the advertising rules for your operator programme. A model then turns that evidence into one recommendation: a headline, a mechanic, a rationale, expected margin and ROI as bands, and a customer-facing line with a note on what the rules permit and forbid.

The model may only reason from what it was given. Expected margin and ROI must come from a comparable past run and are described as expectations, not projections. The model is told never to invent a regulation, a section number or a date, and it cannot: citations are attached from the retrieval result and are never read back from the model, so an invented cite has no way to reach the screen. That is why the evidence panel says nothing in it is written by the model.

Outcome rows whose promotion has since been deleted are dropped, so the recommendation never cites something you cannot open.

Why it needs history

With no measured promotion history indexed there is nothing to ground a recommendation in, and the screen says so rather than guessing. Performance data comes from the nightly rollup; the more promotions that have run and been measured, the more the recommendation has to stand on.

What approving does

Dutchie has no way to receive a discount from outside, so Intelligence cannot create the promotion. Approve saves the recommendation as a draft Offer creative in Studio with no promotion attached. You build the discount in Dutchie using the Recreate in Dutchie card, sync it in on Promotions, and attach it to the draft in the creative editor.

How it differs from Promo Intelligence

The older Promo Intelligence page on Deal Menu Manager generates bundle proposals from opportunity types and basket affinity. Those proposals reason from general rules; this screen reasons from what your promotions actually earned.
