0.0 Weekly brief

Know why sales moved.

Every Tuesday, last week's change in sales is split into dollars: gaps on the shelf, price, fewer customers and the mix, adding up to the headline, each with the products and brands behind it and what to do next. On the 1st, the same for the month.

By hand: A sales report that says sales fell, and a guess at why.

The weekly brief: sales down $212 a day, and where each dollar went

The numbers below were measured at one BudLogix dispensary in September and October 2026.

1.0 Inventory

Buy what sells.

Five lanes around a reorder point, worst first. A vendor's order built from what the engine suggests, in whole cases, from what actually arrived last time, beside the price ranges your shelf has run out of, what each costs a day, and the brands that can fill them.

By hand: A spreadsheet, a guess, and a vendor rep's opinion.

58% of stock capital is covered past 60 days, and three vendors hold 78% of it.

2.0 Pricing

Price with proof.

Six weeks of demand ahead, and a scoped batch of moves the engine can say why it chose. A person reviews and pushes. Each move is measured against a hold-out when the window closes, and rolls back in one click.

By hand: A manager's hunch on a Tuesday, measured against nothing.

Every proposal is weighed against 1,192 price moves this store already made, each one measured.

3.0 Loss Prevention

Stop the leaks.

Every hand-applied discount, judged by rules your store sets, and every staff purchase, adjustment and Metrc gap ends in a transaction you can open, ranked by person against the store norm. Every deposit is paired with the shift closing that describes it, and stock sitting in the vault while its shelf is empty is on a list of its own.

By hand: A printout and a suspicion.

88 policy exceptions in 30 days, each a transaction you can open. 36 of 178 shift closings came up $5 or more off.

4.0 Purchasing

Receive and pay without typing.

Scan each package off the manifest at the dock, from a phone or a scanner gun, before anyone opens a box to count it. The invoice arrives by mail with its lines already read and matched to the order and the delivery, and the matcher gets faster the longer it runs. Pay by printed check or export an ACH batch.

AI: AI reads every line of the invoice, from a PDF or a photo of the paper.

By hand: A clipboard, then forty lines typed twice.

6,062 packages scanned off 204 manifests, and 1,975 invoice lines read without typing.

5.0 Marketing

Sell: from discount to screen to review.

The discount in your POS is the promotion. Pick it in Studio and one design renders in every format. It goes onto the screens and the storefront, comes down when the offer ends, and the sale triggers the review request. Budtenders are paid to sell what needs selling, by you or by the brand.

AI: AI writes the copy and draws the product image from what the promo covers.

By hand: Canva, a USB stick, and asking for reviews at the counter.

Promotions measured on the baskets they appeared in, not on the week they ran.

6.0 Team

Hire and keep people the regulator's way.

A resume mailbox swept into one hiring board, and background checks worked before you pay for a CORI. Onboarding from offer to cleared-to-work. A weekly schedule built against how busy each hour is, a tablet time clock, and timesheets ready for payroll. Every person on the floor scored weekly against their peers. The personnel record your state requires, checked every morning, and in Massachusetts a CORI sequence you cannot skip.

AI: AI reads each resume that lands in the mailbox and fills in the name, email and phone.

By hand: A folder, a calendar reminder, and hoping the inspector does not ask.

Every required personnel item, checked for every employee every morning.

7.0 Compliance

Pass inspection.

In Massachusetts today: SOPs that cite the paragraph of 935 CMR they satisfy, a Commission deficiency turned into a plan of correction and filed from the screen, and an incident with both reporting clocks running from intake. More states follow as their rules are loaded.

AI: AI drafts the plan of correction and checks which rules your SOPs cover. Every citation and date comes from the rule text, never from the model.

By hand: A consultant, per inspection.

Six Commission deficiency statements read, five plans of correction drafted from them, and two incident reports filed from the screen.

What AI does here, and what it never does.

AI does the reading and the writing. The numbers come from your own sales, and the rules from the regulation text.

Does

  • Reads invoices line by line, from a PDF or a photo.
  • Reads resumes from the hiring mailbox and fills in the applicant's details.
  • Writes promotion copy and draws the product image.
  • Rewords outgoing texts so carriers deliver them.
  • Drafts plans of correction and checks your SOPs against the rules.
  • Answers questions on any screen, and shows the article the answer came from.

Never

  • Sets a price. Prices move by measured rules, and a person pushes them.
  • Decides who broke policy. Exceptions are rules applied to your transactions.
  • Writes a citation or a deadline. Those come from the regulation text.
  • Judges an applicant. Background searches are matched by rule, and a person reads every result.
  • Pays an invoice or files a plan of correction on its own. A person presses the button.
