What the storefront takes from BudLogix

The storefront is your shop's own website: the online menu shoppers browse and order from. It runs on Dutchie ecommerce with a custom theme. Products, prices, stock and the checkout all come from Dutchie; BudLogix never touches those. What BudLogix adds is the layer around the menu that Dutchie does not offer, and the Storefront section of the sidebar is where that layer is edited.

What the website asks BudLogix for

  • Navigation menu - the drop-down flyouts under each category, and any custom menu roots (Menu, plus Category mappings).
  • Hero carousel - the rotating banners on the home page (Hero).
  • Featured brands - the brand strip with logos (Featured Brands).
  • Quizzes - the "find your product" quizzes on the home, about, product and category pages, and the headline around them (Quizzes).
  • Product reviews - approved shopper reviews and the average rating for each product (Product Reviews).
  • Google reviews - the shop's Google rating and recent reviews, which come from the Reviews module rather than from a Storefront screen.

How a request is answered

Every request from the website carries the store's Dutchie location id. BudLogix looks that id up on the super admin screen Dutchie Store Mappings to find the organization, then checks that Storefront Plugins Subscribed is on for it. If either is missing, the website gets an empty answer and simply shows nothing for that feature; it never breaks. This is also why every Storefront screen shows an amber notice until the mapping and the subscription exist.

When a change goes live

Each screen has a Save button and nothing is sent to the website until you click it. After that there is no publish step and no schedule: the website receives the new content the next time it asks, which is usually the next page load. The website remembers the last answer it got, so if nothing changed BudLogix just tells it so.

The one exception is Marketing Studio. Publishing a creative to the Storefront hero placement writes a slide onto the Hero carousel for you, and an hourly sweep takes it down when the creative's run window ends. See Marketing Studio and Promotions.

What flows back

Product reviews are the only thing that travels from the website into BudLogix. A shopper's review lands in Review moderation as Pending and stays invisible on the website until someone approves it. Quiz answers are checked against the saved quiz but not kept.
