The player's Settings panel
The player on each TV has one settings panel of its own. Everything in it is a setting of that TV, kept on the TV; nothing here changes in BudLogix, and nothing in BudLogix changes it.
Opening and moving around
Hold OK on the remote for about a second, or press and hold the screen for about three seconds on a touch panel. On a remote with no button labeled OK, OK is the center button inside the four arrows; every article about the player means that button when it says OK. A short press does not open it, and holding any other button does not either. The arrows move the highlight, OK selects, BACK closes. Clear downloads and Unpair this screen ask first: pick Cancel or the action, or press BACK to cancel.
Fields and figures
THIS DEVICE
- Device code - this TV's code, the same one BudLogix shows in the Device Code column on Manage devices. Not paired until the TV is paired.
- Downloaded items - how many content files are stored on the TV.
DISPLAY
- Display fit - shrinks the picture so the TV does not crop its edges, from 100% down to 80% in 1% steps. Use left and right while it is highlighted; the slides behind the panel resize as you go.
- Orientation - Landscape, Portrait or Auto, to match how the TV is mounted.
KIOSK
- Screen pinning - On keeps the remote from leaving the player; holding Back and Home together still exits. Some TVs refuse it, and then the hint reads This TV does not allow pinning and the value stays Off. The onn 4K is one of them.
- Starts after power loss - On when the player will open by itself after the TV restarts, Off - Enable when it will not, Checking... for a moment while the TV is asked. See Turn on auto-start after a power cut.
- Screen stays awake - reads Always; it is built in. The player keeps the TV's screen on while it runs.
THIS SCREEN
- Clear downloads - shows the number of stored files. Deletes them and fetches them again from BudLogix; the screen may be blank while they download.
- Unpair this screen - the TV stops showing content and returns to the pairing screen. The screen's row stays in BudLogix until someone deletes it; see Take a screen offline or remove it.
ABOUT
- Version - the player version. From 1.0.2 this is the installed version; older players always show 1.0.0.
Version differences
Players before 1.0.2 have Starts when the TV powers on reading Always where Starts after power loss is now, and it is not true on Android 10 and later.
