How manifest lines are matched to products
A manifest line is a package as the supplier named it. A product is what your catalog sells, and each product in BudLogix mirrors one Dutchie product. Matching links the two so a delivery can be reconciled, counted and invoiced. Lines that do not match land in the cockpit under Needs attention.
The order of attempts
Each line is tried in order, and the first layer that answers wins.
- Metrc item id. Every package carries the id of its Metrc item. If exactly one product in your catalog has that id, the line matches with full confidence and no guessing. One product can carry several Metrc item ids over time, and a remembered link (below) is consulted too. If two products claim the same id, nothing is guessed. This layer needs the transfer to be in Metrc; an uploaded manifest skips it.
- Purchase order line. If a purchase order is linked to the delivery, its lines are matched by Metrc item id or exact product name.
- Remembered exact name. A match you confirmed or linked before, for the same supplier and the same manifest name, is reused. Matches seen twice without correction count too.
- Remembered similar name. A remembered match for the same supplier whose manifest name is at least 85% similar (default).
- Catalog search. The Metrc category is mapped to a catalog category using the category mapping, then brand, strain and weight parsed from the name narrow the candidates.
- Assisted parsing. As a last resort the name is parsed with AI help and searched the same way. The mapped category is still required.
Layers 3 and 4 need a supplier on the delivery. A row reading No supplier cannot use its memory.
When the cockpit opens, a line still without a product is linked by itself if exactly one active product has its brand, strain, size and category - the same product Create in Dutchie would refuse as a duplicate. Its line in Resolved reads Linked automatically. A line with a sister brand, another size or another category is never linked by itself; it is offered as a close match.
What gets remembered
Linking a line in the cockpit stamps every package with the same manifest identity, and stores the pairing of supplier, manifest name and product, with the Metrc item id when there is one. The next delivery carrying that name or id matches at layer 1 or 3 without asking. Confirming an analysis on the Manifest product analysis screen stores its matches the same way. When the line was Ordered as a purchase order line, or its package tag is on a Leaf Trade order, the product is also linked to that vendor listing; see Link an unmatched line to a product.
Undoing a link
Unlink in a resolved line's menu undoes a link however it was made, and forgets the remembered pairing for that manifest name and Metrc item id, so the next delivery does not match the same way. See Reconciliation cockpit.
When a line cannot match
If Metrc has not accepted the transfer, packages cannot be linked and the cockpit says so; accept it in Metrc rather than building products. Otherwise the line needs a person: Review match or Add product opens a drawer with the close matches to Link and the form to create the product in Dutchie (which needs the Publish To Dutchie permission). A category is required to create, so an Unmapped Metrc category on the settings screen blocks creation until a category is chosen. The proposed name follows the category's naming pattern.
