How spiffs, goals and competitions count a sale

Spiffs, team goals and competitions on chosen products read the same sale lines by the same rules, so a unit that counts for one counts for all of them.

Which sales

A sale is a Dutchie transaction rung in the dates - store days, in your store's timezone - that was not voided, a return, cancelled or refunded. It belongs to whoever's till name is on it, matched to the roster. A sale rung under a name that is not on the roster (a shared login, someone who has left) counts for nobody.

Which products

What an incentive counts is chosen on its form:

  • Brands and categories - a line counts when its product is in one of the brands, and in one of the categories when categories are chosen too. "Nectar" and "Disposables" together is Nectar disposables only.
  • Products - only those products.

A line counts by the product it was sold as. A sale line Dutchie sent with no product BudLogix could match counts toward nothing narrowed.

Lines that earn nothing

  • A manual discount - Manager's Discount, or any discount someone applied by hand at the register. Read from how Dutchie applies the discount, not its name, so a renamed comp is still a comp.
  • The staff discount - a budtender buying spiffed product for themselves earns nothing for it.
  • A giveaway - a line discounted by 99% or more.

A promotion, a loyalty redemption or a code the customer presented still counts. A "% of sales" spiff pays on what the customer paid after those discounts. A line that earns nothing is still shown to the budtender on My earnings, with why.

Returns

A return takes the spiff back from the budtender who was paid for it, even after the spiff has ended: either Dutchie marks the original line returned, or a return transaction names the original sale. The ledger gets a minus line and the budtender sees "Return: ... taken back". A unit returned before a team goal is counted drops out of the count. A spiff that is still running gets the returned amount back in its budget; one that has stopped stays stopped.

When it is counted

Every 30 minutes. Sales reach BudLogix from Dutchie with a lag, so spiffs and goals keep counting their dates for a day after they end, then close.
