What a spiff achieved
Every spiff, goal and leaderboard on chosen products gets a scorecard once it stops: what it did to sales, what each extra unit cost, and one word for how it went. On Incentives, the Ended tab shows the word on each row; press it for the scorecard. Brands see the same scorecard on their own spiffs in BudLogix for brands, without your margin.
The figures
- Lift, against the category is the headline. It compares units a week while it ran with the 4 weeks before, then takes out the rest of the category's own change at your store over the same days. If everything doubled, a spiff that doubled did nothing.
- A week during · before are the plain paces.
- The category at the store, same weeks is the change the lift was adjusted by.
- Cost per extra unit is what it paid, over the units above the pace before (adjusted for the category). When it added nothing it says No extra units.
- Margin a unit (your screen only) is the shelf price less cost over the 4 weeks before, so you can see how much of each extra unit's margin the spiff took.
- 2 or 4 weeks after shows whether sales stayed up, went back to before, or dipped after, which can mean it pulled sales forward.
- Budtenders who sold it and Paid of the budget.
Units count by the same rules as paying a spiff: see How spiffs, goals and competitions count a sale.
The grade
The grade reads only the lift against the category, so you and the brand see the same word. The cut-offs come from your own history. With nothing running, an ordinary fortnight here beats +40% one time in four, +115% one time in ten and +200% one time in twenty.
- No effect: +40% or less.
- Weak: over +40%.
- Worked: over +115%.
- Strong: over +200%.
Too little to judge, with the reason, when:
- fewer than 30 units sold while it ran;
- it ran under 7 days;
- none sold in the 4 weeks before;
- the number of its products selling each week changed by more than a fifth.
A scorecard is provisional until 4 weeks after it stopped, then final.
What worked
On the Ended tab, What worked lists everything with a scorecard from the last year, the cheapest extra unit first, with "Too little to judge" last. Filter by kind, brand, category and pay type, and press a name for its scorecard.
For brands
A brand sees the grade and cost per extra unit on its own spiffs, goals and leaderboards, and the full scorecard on a spiff's statement. Its Home ranks its own spiffs across the stores that confirmed it, as What worked for you. It never sees your margin or another brand's spiffs.
